Members are invited to exclusive networking, educational, food and beverage, themed, and holiday events throughout the year. UClub members enjoy fine dining in the 11,000 square foot penthouse of the University Tower, overlooking panoramic views of Duke Forest, Duke Chapel, downtown Durham, and Chapel Hill. Bring the UClub home to you with our At-Home Catering services.

Members enjoy complimentary use of the Club's seven private dining rooms, whether entertaining your entire office or celebrating an important birthday. Complimentary event consultants who will assist you with all the details of your private events with expert menu planning and event coordination.

Main Dining Room

The Main Dining Room is the largest of our private spaces and offers breathtaking views of Duke University, Duke Chapel, Duke Forest & downtown Durham. The Main Dining Room is ideal for rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions and holiday parties with its ability to expand into the adjacent Trinity Rooms. Large business seminars, client dinners, and staff retreats also work well in the Main Dining Room with the Club's audio-visual rentals on-site.

The Trinity Rooms, aptly named for their 3 private spaces with removable mahogany walls, are perfect for intimate private parties or as an extension of Main Dining Room when added as a space for pre-function hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, double-sided buffets or additional seating for up to 60.   • Trinity A, the largest of the Trinity Rooms, offers views of Durham and is ideal for groups of 15-20.
  • Enjoy an intimate dining experience in our cozy Trinity B room; perfect for romantic dinners or private meetings up to 8 people with a view.
  • Featuring elegant hardwood flooring and glass French doors, Trinity C is a natural compliment to the Club’s mahogany décor and its view of Duke Chapel is a Member favorite. Trinity C is ideal for groups of 12-14 or as an extension of the Main Dining room as a dance floor.

Adorned with collections of classic novels and magnums of wine, our Library offers traditional country club elegance to groups of 25-30. With views of downtown Durham, the Library serves a sophisticated space for family gatherings, entertaining clients or elegant dinner parties. The Library also provides a lovely setting for intimate wedding ceremonies and micro-weddings.

In loving memory of our esteemed member John Hope Franklin, the Franklin room is the second largest of our private spaces. Equipped with an 80″ inch flat-screen TV the Franklin room is a great location for all-day business meetings, rehearsal dinners or private parties of 80. Enjoy views of Chapel Hill and Durham from the Franklin Room, a perfect setting for watching UNC Tar Heel and Duke Blue Devil rivalry games.

Established in 1987, the University Club is Durham’s premier private dining club. The Club is home to members who conduct business and entertain socially in a fine dining atmosphere. Located in the 11,000 square foot 17th floor penthouse of the University Tower, the University Club offers gourmet dining with luxurious furnishings, gleaming chandeliers and tastefully arranged rooms. Throughout the Club, sparkling windows offer magnificent panoramic views of Durham, Chapel Hill, Duke University and Duke Forest.

Yes, we are a private dining Club. Membership has its benefits, and access to our views, unparalleled service, and fine food and drinks come with monthly membership dues.

Business casual. Acceptable attire includes shirts with collars, sweaters, blouses, and golf/polo shirts, casual slacks and trousers, jeans without holes, frays, etc. Please no shorts, warm-up suits/sweatshirts, casual slip-on shoes, or flip flops.

Yes, we welcome well-behaved children to join us at the Club for lunch, dinner, as well as at our popular brunches and family friendly member events like Trick or Treat Night and Santa Claus Brunch. We ask our members to be considerate of their fellow members and guests should their crew get a little excited about the food and the view. We have several private dining rooms which are complimentary to members with advance reservations.

Yes, we encourage members to bring their friends to join them at the Club. We request that all charges are billed to the member host, and guests are limited to 4 visits per year (joining the Club is recommended!!).

While we are a private Club, we do allow non-members to host private events at the Club with member sponsorship. Please contact us regarding interest in hosting an event as a non-member or consider joining the Club with affordable monthly dues.

This may seem like an odd question for a dining establishment, but we are asked this one a lot! We do not allow outside food or catering to be brought in the Club, with the exception of a celebratory cake and/or desserts for a special event. We do not allow outside spirits, beer, or non-alcoholic beverages. We do allow wine to be poured by our staff for a corkage fee of $15.00 per 750mL bottle; this applies to a la carte dining as well as catered events on and off site for members.
